Vinh Dang
Vinh was born and raised in Viet Nam. In 1980, he and his sister escaped Viet Nam by boat. While at sea, he encountered thirst, hunger, and pirates. Finally, he and his sister were rescued by a West German Ship (Cap Anamur). After graduating from University of Maryland, he taught at Georgetown Prep. School for 14 years. On November 21, 2010, his beloved wife died of cancer. He currently teaches at Punahou (Honolulu) and lives with his daughter, Miranda and his wife ThuMinh. In August 2012, he took a sabbatical for one year to work at the orphanage in SG with his daughter Miranda. This is going to be his 19th visit to Viet Nam.
